UPDATE ON GAZA & BEYOND

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In the midst of challenging times, Christian Mission in Gaza continues to stand as a beacon of hope and love for those in need. As we journey through these trying days, we want to share with you the latest updates and the impact that your support has had on the lives of many.

We would like to share that we have been actively involved in providing essential aid to those affected by the conflict. Here are some of the ways in which we have made a difference:

Winter Clothes: We have distributed warm winter clothes to those in need, helping them stay comfortable during the harsh weather conditions.

Groceries: We have been supplying groceries to families who are struggling to put food on their tables.

Financial Support: Through your generous contributions, we have been able to provide financial assistance to numerous families, helping them meet their basic needs.

Food for the Soul: Just a few days ago, we prepared and delivered a total of 870 meals to people taking shelter in churches, ensuring that they do not go hungry during these difficult times.

We have also been able to provide milk for children and bread. The bread is made by a local woman and distributed to people in the area that are in need.

Reaching Beyond Gaza

Our ministry extends beyond the borders of Gaza.

Children Refugees in Jordan: We provided 1,068 Christmas gifts to children refugees in Jordan, bringing smiles to their faces during the festive season.

Iraqi Christian Refugee Families in Jordan: We distributed food baskets to 700 Iraqi Christian refugee families in Jordan, offering them some comfort and sustenance.

Gaza Families in the West Bank: We extended our support to 100 Gaza families in the West Bank who have been affected by the ongoing conflict.

Gazan Families in Jerusalem Hospitals: Additionally, we have been aiding Gazan families who are stuck in hospitals in Jerusalem due to the war, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support.

The Heartbreaking Reality: One of our friends and a leader at Gaza Baptist Church recently went to check on his own house, which, like many others, had been destroyed during the conflict. This reminds us of the profound impact this war has had on the lives and homes of many innocent people.

We want to emphasize that in the midst of this horrible war, our mission remains steadfast. We are committed to doing everything we can to help and reach out with the love of the Lord to those going through their darkest days.

We wanted to provide you with an insight into the heart-wrenching reality faced by the people seeking refuge within the churches of Gaza. One of the church leaders, who has been at the forefront of this crisis, shared these words to help us understand the dire situation:

"To describe the situation in Gaza, the word catastrophe falls short because life here has almost ceased to exist. There is a severe shortage of food, water, and electricity. Fear, worry, and anxiety hang heavy in the air. It's nearly impossible to imagine the extent of destruction—homes, streets, and even human and animal remains buried under the rubble. The environment is far from healthy, and people are desperate, searching for something to eat, even if it's expired. Prices have skyrocketed, making even basic necessities unaffordable. Inside the churches, the situation is equally challenging. Privacy is scarce, and the food supply is limited, often consisting of canned goods. The cold seeps in, and illnesses spread quickly among children due to the harsh conditions. There's a constant struggle to find warmth and heat water for bathing children. Words alone cannot capture the gravity of this situation."

These powerful words underscore the urgent need for our continued support and prayers as we strive to bring relief and hope to those enduring these unimaginable hardships. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are suffering.

This period challenges us to truly understand what life is all about, to know the Lord, and to make Him known. It encourages us to rearrange our priorities in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and to focus on our higher calling. Let us follow in the footsteps of Jesus, not allowing unforgiveness and bitterness to rule our lives, but living by the power of love and forgiveness.

Your continued support and prayers are invaluable to us. Together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Feel free to write us back as I always love to hear from you. Thank you for standing with us in this mission of hope and love.

Blessings,

Pastor Hanna Massad
