Feeding the Hungry and Bringing Hope
We are filled with gratitude to share the work the Lord is doing through your prayers and support in Gaza. Over the past few days, we were able to serve 2,000 meals to vulnerable families in the northern and central areas of Gaza, alongside providing a tank of clean drinking water in the north.
Watch the water distribution taking place in Gaza:
Signs at the distribution points similarly note that this provision is "Donated from Gaza Baptist Church" and sometimes includes "The Presbyterian Church in Egypt." as well. This is one of the ways we let the Muslim community know that Christians care and want reflect Christ love in practical way.
On September 5, 2024, we were blessed to serve 1,000 meals in the north and to provide clean drinking water for the community there. Praise the Lord for His provision and your ongoing support, which makes this work possible! The following day, we distributed another 1,000 meals in the middle of Gaza. Pictures from this effort just arrived, and I’m in awe of what God is doing through your prayers and partnership.
Stories From The Ground - from our Leaders:
"As we distributed food, we witnessed moments of hope and grace. A little girl came up to me after receiving her meal and thanked me for the food. I told her, “Thank God, who provided this meal,” and with a pure heart, she responded, “Thank you to our Lord.”
Another young man approached me and asked who had provided the food. When I told him it was from the Baptist Church, he smiled and said, "Since the church has both religion and morals, the food is delicious without me even tasting it. I’ll get a tray so you can fill it." His words were a powerful reminder of how our witness can reach people beyond just physical nourishment.
One child came to me after already receiving food and said, “Uncle, the food is not enough for my family. Can you please give me more next time?” I assured him that we would do our best, and he thanked me with such sincerity. Every time we distribute, the people pray blessings over us.
So many children asked when we would return, their innocent eyes filled with hope. They asked if, next time, we could bring meat and rice, and I promised, with God's help, that we would."
We continue to ask for your prayers for the people of Gaza as they face immense challenges. We are planning on doing another set of meals this week but getting the money to Gaza has proved challenging. Please join us in praying for a way to get the money to Gaza, for peace and for an end to this ongoing nightmare.
I would also like to ask for your prayers for my upcoming trip at the end of September to Jordan for our Iraqi and Syrian Ministry.
Our FREE Eye Glasses Clinic will be taking place again!
Seven dedicated volunteers from First Baptist Church in Garland, Texas, will be joining me in Jordan to minister to refugees in need of eyeglasses. These volunteers will be bringing hundreds of new glasses to help people who need assistance with near and far vision.
Pictured below is the clinic taking place in previous years.
Please pray for their safe travels and for the many lives that will be touched by this ministry.
Your support and prayers are vital as we continue to provide relief and hope to the people of Gaza and Beyond! Together, we can make a difference and be a source of blessing in their lives.
As always, I love to hear from and connect with you.
